Mission of the Hackathon
A CALL TO HACK
VHacks, a hackathon in partnership with the Vatican, aims to:
Leverage technology to help enhance the solutions of NGOs, who supply problem statements related to their fields
Promote collaboration amongst the most talented university students from diverse academic, cultural, and religious backgrounds
Provide a framework for ethically-minded innovation
Meet Our participants
VHacks participants will be the world’s brightest students in computing from diverse academic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
Participants will be selected through a combination of partner universities providing teams and an open application where any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program is eligible to apply. Participants are chosen based on academic accomplishments, innovative thinking, and alignment with our mission statement.
VHacks empowers students from the global tech community to enhance NGOs’ solutions through ethically-minded innovation.
We will partner with NGOs and non-profits to determine the projects students will be working on at the event.
1 day of ethics immersion + a 36-hour hacking sprint + post-event collaboration = sustainable and ethical tech-solutions for NGOs.
